Cuba lifts restriction on mobile phones

President Raul Castro has announced that Cubans are now allowed unrestricted access to mobile phones for the first time, in the latest reform.  Granma, the official newspaper of the communist party, state telecom monopoly ETECSA said it would offer mobile services to the public in the next few days.

North Korea has test-fired short-range missiles off its western coast, the South Korean government has confirmed. The tests came as Pyongyang warned that US demands over its nuclear programme could further delay its disabling of nuclear facilities as agreed last year.
