Police Commissioner ordered investigation into espionage allegation

Commissioner of Police Mr. Winston James has directed the Criminal Investigation Department to investigate a complaint by a member of the Royal Grenada Police Force that he was detained against his will, allegedly beaten and some of his personal property taken away from him.

The complaint was made to the C.I.D. around 10.30 p.m., on Tuesday 26th February ‘08 and medical forms were issued to determine the nature of injuries resulting from an altercation that occurred on Lucas Street, in St. George’s earlier in the eveningThe complainant was taken to the General Hospital for medical attention and thereafter gave a statement to a member of the Criminal Investigation Department.

Commissioner James views these developments with great concern.

The practice of persons turning to non-peaceful means to settle disputes and altercations must be discouraged at all levels says Mr. James.

There is a correct and establish manner in which we are expected to handle dispute in any civilized society, and the Royal Grenada Police Force would not stand –by and allow persons to take the law into their own hands.

We must be able to settle our disputes in a peaceful non-violent manner, any other way would lead to total chaos, the Commissioner stated.

Mr. James wishes to reiterate, that there is an urgent need for persons to exercise patience, restraint, and a greater sense of reasoning in settling disputes and altercations.

Commissioner James wishes to assure the Nation that this matter would be thoroughly investigated and any person and/ or persons found to be in breach would bear the necessary consequences.

The cooperation and patience of all are expected..

  1. It is high time that Supt. Degale resign from the force or be removed from his present position. It is too shameful and disgusting the way he operates. He is a total failure to us. Enough is enough on that recruit’s behavior. He is not a police at all, yet he is elevated to high ranks for continuously bringing the force into shame and unnecessary scandal. MOVE THE BASTARD – TOO MUCH AH S–T GOING ON.
