The Grenada United Labour Party (GULP) congratulates the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on its victory at the polls on July 8, 2008 and extends best wishes and fullest support to the Hon. Prime Minister, Mr. Tillman Thomas as he embarks upon the heavy burden of steering the ship of state.

The National Democratic Congress wishes to thank the people of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique for their vote of confidence in the party.

 Thousand of Grenadians are celebrating the NDC victory tonight all over the island.  There are reports of  large crowds in St. John’s, Grenville, St. George’s and St. David’s. The biggest casualty of the election was deputy Prime Minister Gregory Bowen who lost to new comer Pastor Carl Hood.

 As the countdown draws closer to general elections, the National Democratic Congress is reporting that a new poll has put it ahead of the New National Party. In addition, a former NNP cabinet minister has come out in open support of the NDC.

Dr. Francis Alexis says the Commissioner of Police should reconsider his decision refusing NDC permission to use public address systems during their election motorcade this Sunday.
