The 2009 Intersectors Netball Tournament will shoot off on Saturday October 17, 2009 at 4:30pm. Teams will gather at Burns Point from 3:00pm and march across to the Tanteen Netball Court for the opening ceremony.
Immediately following the opening ceremony which will be attended by Minister of Sports, Hon. Patrick Simmons and also Patron of the Association Lady Glean, there will be four highly anticipated games. In the first two games HUggins will try to school SGU Pacers as was done last year while Hubbards will take on Education Dazzlers who were out of competition for a few years. In the second set of games Flow Media Bombsquad will try to write a news story all over Brydens while Police will try to discipline Coyaba Blazers.

The Tournament which started over 18 years ago among the different Ministries has grown to now include a wider cross section of the Private and Public Sectors. A total of 18 teams has registered for this year’s tournament. There are approximately 5 teams which have either returned to the tournament after a long break or are new to the tournament.

The new format that was undertaken last year will also be used this year. Teams have been zoned and the top two teams from each zone will advance to play a semi final round and then the winners from that will play a final to determine the overall champion of the tournament. There will also be sectional prizes such as oldest player on court, most outstanding male player, most improved team etc. and not forgetting the very much anticipated Bosses shootout. A new concept added to the tournament will see all the teams that failed to qualify for the semin final playing a Knock Out on the final day of the Tournament. This is seen as an incentive for these teams to have a second chance at winning a prize.

Below is a listing of the teams as per zone:

Zone 1: Huggins, SGU Pacers, Flow Media Bombsquad, Brydens, La Source Combined, Grenada postal Corporation, Real Value Blazers, New Image Finance, Ministry of Health.

Zone 2: Hubbards, Education Dazzlers, Ministry of Sports, Police Sports Club, Coyaba Blazers, GDB/Co-op Banks Combined, Insurances, Ministried Combined, Teachers.

Games are played on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 6:00pm and 7:00pm. The Public is invited.!!

Through the Intersectors Netball Tournament new friendships are born and old ones are renewed !!
