Puerto Rico governor denies fraud

The Governor of Puerto Rico Anibal Acevedo Vila has pleaded not guilty to corruption charges at the federal court in the capital San Juan.Governor Acevedo Vila faces 19 charges linked to allegations of misusing thousands of dollars in illegal election campaign contributions.  He is accused along with 12 of his associates.

Cuba lifts restriction on mobile phones

President Raul Castro has announced that Cubans are now allowed unrestricted access to mobile phones for the first time, in the latest reform.  Granma, the official newspaper of the communist party, state telecom monopoly ETECSA said it would offer mobile services to the public in the next few days.
