WIPA Expresses Condolences on the Passing of Paul Palmer Snr.

KINGSTON, JAMAICA – The West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA) extends condolences to the family and friends of Paul Palmer Snr., father of 26-year-old Jamaica Scorpions cricketer Paul Palmer.

Palmer Snr. was a member of the Jamaica U-19 team and played club cricket in Westmoreland and Kingston. WIPA’s Honorary Secretary, Wayne Lewis, recalls “he was a very attractive middle order batsman, favoured the offside, he was very disciplined, kept himself fit, and was in top shape all the time. He was also very animated, there was never a dull moment being around him, as he wouldbe the one teasing and doing a bit of sledging on the field, but he  was very hard working.”

WIPA’s President and CEO, Wavell Hinds, stated “I would like to express condolences on the passing of Paul Palmer Snr. I know this must be a really difficult time for his family and friends. I wish Paul Palmer Jr. and the rest of the family strength and peace as they go through this ordeal.”
