Windwards bowled out for 350

Bridgetown, Barbados, March 13 – The Windward Islands, resuming on 116 for two, were bowled out for 350 off 111.4 overs in reply to Barbados’ first innings total of 341 all out with 12 overs remaining before the close of play on the third day of the fifth round regional first-class match at Kensington Oval here today.

Today, Keddy Lesporis, who started the day on 45, was leg before wicket by fast bowler Fidel Edwards for 50 as he played across (123-3; 38.3 overs); Andre Fletcher, who was on 53 overnight, was comprehensively bowled by pacer Tino Best for 116 (259-4; 80.5 overs); left-hander Kevin James edged Best to wicket-keeper Shane Dowrich after scoring 24 (309-5; 94.5 overs); skipper Liam Sebastien, also a left-hander, was leg before wicket by left-arm seamer Pedro Collins for 94 (315-6; 98 overs); Garey Mathurin, yet another left-hander, was bowled by Edwards for one (327-7; 104 overs); Mervin Matthew was caught by Dowrich off Edwards without scoring (327-8; 105.3 overs) and Kenroy Peters was leg before wicket by Edwards for nought (327-9; 106 overs) and Lyndon James was caught at mid-on by Kyle Hope off Edwards for 25 (350 all out; 111.4 overs).

Delorn Johnson was unbeaten on seven.

Fletcher was at the crease for 342 minutes, faced 230 balls and struck 16 boundaries. He reached his century in 279 minutes off 191 balls with 15 fours.

Sebastien’s knock took 265 minutes off 178 balls and contained 12 boundaries. He brought up his fifty in 130 minutes off 108 deliveries with six fours.

Lesporis batted for 118 minutes, received 75 balls and hit five boundaries.

Kevin James was badly dropped at gully on seven by Kyle Hope off Collins as the batsman drove with the score 276 for four.

Yesterday, Tyrone Theophile was bowled by Collins for one as he essayed a big drive (2-1; 2.3 overs) and Atticus Browne was snapped up by Dowrich, swooping to his left as he edged an expansive drive off Best for 12 (36-2; 12.3 overs).

Edwards took five for 77 off 19.4 overs; Best, three for 84 off 22 overs and Collins, two for 80 off 29 overs.
