Wickets crumbled at 3W’s Stadium in Barbados

Bridgetown, Barbados, February 4  – The Windward Islands were 145 for seven off 39 overs in reply to the Combined Campuses & Colleges (CCC) first innings total of 131 all out off 50.5 overs at the close of play on the opening day of their first round regional Headley/Weekes first-class match at the 3Ws Oval here today.

The not out batsmen were Mervin Matthew and Kenroy Peters, both on nought.

Tyrone Theophille was caught at second slip by Romel Currency off fast bowler Kevin McClean for three with the score on four (1.1 overs); Andre Fletcher, pulling at left-arm spinner Kavesh Kantasingh, was bowled for 30 (55-2; 13.1 overs); Johnson Charles was caught at backward short-leg on the second attempt by Currency off off-spinner Ryan Austin for 28 (77-3; 18.3 overs); captain Liam Sebastien (17) was bowled by Austin as he swept (106-4; 23 overs); Keddy Lesporis was leg before wicket by leg-spinner Nkrumah Bonner for 41 (136-5; 31.3 overs); Garey Mathurin was also leg before wicket by Bonner for six (145-6; 36 overs) and Lyndon James was run out by debutant Raymon Reifer for 12 (145-7; 38.4 overs).

Bonner topscored for CCC with 27, while veteran player/coach Floyd Reifer  made 24.

The pair featured in the best partnership of the innings – 39 for the sixth wicket.

Off-spinner Sebastien took three for 17 off 7.5 overs. Left-arm pacer Kenroy Peters picked up two for 21 and leg-spinner Keron Cottoy, two for 30.
