KINGSTON, Jamaica – Cricket fans across the Caribbean and around the World will be able to see the ongoing series between West Indies and Ireland at Sabina Park.
TVJ will produce and make available LIVE ball-by-ball coverage of the second Twenty20 International on Friday and the one-off One-Day International on Sunday. The broadcast will be available on television to the Jamaican audience and online at the WICB’s website www.windiescricket.com
Support for the broadcast came from the International Cricket Council’s Development Programme.
“We are delighted to have TVJ on board for this series and we are also thankful to the ICC for their support in making it happen,” said WICB President Dave Cameron. “This will be a high-quality production with all the international standards and requirements and we are happy to make it available to our fans.”
Cameron added: “So far we have witnessed some exciting cricket. There is great anticipation as we prepare for the series decider and we expect a large audience to tune-in and log-on to see the action from Sabina.”
Friday’s match started at 2pm (3pm Eastern Caribbean Time) and Sunday’s match will start at 9:30 am (10:30 am Jamaica Time).
Ireland won the first T20 on Wednesday by six wickets and World Champions West Indies will look to level the series in the last match. The two teams are using the series as preparation for the ICC World T20 Tournament to be played in Bangladesh next month.
