St. George’s, May 17, 2011 – The St. George’s Anglican School (SGAS) on Church Street is looking for community volunteers to assist with a school project this Saturday.
The Parent Teacher Association is embarking on a maroon to repair the primary school’s toilets and to install new fittings such as doors and basins.
The initiative has already garnered the support of MP for the Town of St. George, Peter David, and the St. George’s Anglican Centenary Committee, which is planning activities to mark the 100th anniversary of St. George’s Anglican Senior School in 2015.
The maroon is Saturday, May 21, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Organisers are appealing for volunteer support, especially from past pupils of SGAS which is popularly known as Hindsey School.
They are particularly in need of skilled tradesmen such as plumbers, carpenters and painters; and also require support in the form of food and drinks for Saturday’s maroon.
