The Grenada government will declare a two day mourning period, at which time flags on public buildings will be flown at half mast as a mark of respect for former Prime Minister George Brizan who will be laid to rest on March 16.
His body will lie in state at the Grenada Trade Center, which houses Grenada’s Parliament, from 10.00am on March 15 to facilitate public viewing.
Director General of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OCES), Dr. Len Ishmael is the latest to extend condolences.
In a statement released on Wednesday Dr. Ishmael said in his short life, George Brizan demonstrated the long held wisdom that “Service is man’s greatest Occupation” and his long and illustrious career in the service of the Grenadian people will continue to inspire the people of our region for generations to come.
