St. George’s, September 4, 2012 – Hon. Peter David, MP for the Town of St. George, has announced plans for a public meeting of his constituents.
“The meeting will be held this Thursday, September 6, from 6.30 pm, at the St. George’s Anglican School – Hindsey School – on Church Street,’’ said Mr. David, who is also General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
“At Thursday’s meeting, I intend to comment on pressing national issues and offer suggestions on solving those issues,’’ he revealed.
A practicing lawyer, Mr. David served as a member of government until resigning on April 30. He is now one of four NDC backbenchers sitting in the House of Representatives.
Mr. David, MP since 2003, said that Thursday’s meeting – to which he is inviting all residents of the city – will also be useful in getting feedback from them on their recommendations on his future in politics, in general, and the upcoming general election, in particular.
The Hindsey School meeting will be preceded by two important project activities in the Town of St. George that Mr. David will be attending.
At 2.45 pm, he’ll be among scores of people at the handing over ceremony for the first phase of reconstructed St. George’s Market Square.
Mr. David will also be involved in a second handing over on Thursday afternoon. It will mark the completion of work on the pavilion at Tanteen. The ceremony at Tanteen is scheduled for 4.15.
Both the Market Square and Tanteen pavilion projects were funded by the government and people of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
Another Venezuelan-funded project – the Ford Bridge in St. Andrew – has been completed and will be officially handed over on Friday, September 7, at 10.45 am.
