Town Hall Meeting cancelled due to storm threat

The Town Hall Meeting scheduled for Sunday October 28, 2012 with Grenada’s Prime Minister Tillman Thomas has been cancelled due to the preparations underway for Hurricane Sandy.

Forecasters say that Hurricane Sandy poses a major threat to the Northeast Coast of the United States and is expected to be accompanied by high winds, heavy rain, along with coastal and inland flooding.

Mr Thomas, who arrived in New York on Friday en route from attending the World Energy Forum in the United Arab Emirates, will instead depart for Grenada on Saturday.

The Prime Minister and Tourism, Civil Aviation and Culture Minister Senator George Vincent were scheduled to address nationals at St Gabriel’s Episcopal Church on Sunday.

The Grenada Consulate in New York profoundly regrets and apologises for the inconvenience caused due to the cancellation.
