St. George’s, May 6, 2012 – Acting Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Pastor Stanford Simon, has said that God will fortify MP Glynis Roberts and her family during their current period of mourning.
Terrence Roberts, husband of the South St. George MP and Minister of Labour, died Saturday at home following a period of illness.
Since then, Mrs. Roberts has received messages of condolences from Grenadians at home and abroad and visits from scores of people, including NDC Leader and Grenada’s Prime Minister, Hon. Tillman Thomas, General Secretary Peter David, and other executive and rank and file members of the party.
“I know this is an unbearable loss for Minister Roberts and her family and I express my profound condolences to them all,’’ Pastor Simon said. “As believers in God, the family can be assured that He would comfort and cradle them at this most trying time. He will fortify them and He is their refuge and fortress.’’
Pastor Simon said all who were privileged to know Mr. Roberts would forever remember him for his friendliness and his community contribution, especially as a talented and ardent cricketer.
“We would all miss Terry,’’ said the NDC Acting Chairman. “May he rest in peace.’’
