St. Lucia is New Windwards Super 50 Champion

St. Lucia emerged victorious in the Windward Islands Super 50 Championship by defeating defending champion Grenada. Grenada, batting first, had a disappointing performance, getting all out for just 142 runs in 36.3 overs, Johann Jeremiah top scored with 28 from 30 balls. St. Lucia’s bowler, Larry Edward, played an outstanding role by taking 5 wickets for just 17 runs in 10 overs.

In response, St. Lucia successfully chased down the target in just 25.1 overs, scoring 143 for 4. Ackeem Auguste, the captain of West Indies U19, played a remarkable innings, scoring an unbeaten 80 runs off 69 balls. Shermon Lewis took 3 wickets for Grenada.

Unfortunately, Grenada’s leading scorer, Teddy Bishop, did not participate in the match, and no reason was provided for his absence.

In the other match Dominica defeated St. Vincent to finished third. St. Vincent batting first finished on 181 all out, Keron Cottoy scored 58 of 75 balls and Gidron Pope 47 of 87 balls. In reply the Dominicans made easy works of it finishing on 185 for 2 of 36.2 overs. Kavem Hodge 63 and Gian Benjamin 64.
