St. John’s promised a State of the art health facility

St. George’s January 12, 2009, (GIS) _ Member of Parliament Michael Church, is promising his constituents that a state-of-the-art health facility will be constructed in their community.

Mr. Church, the parliamentary representative for the parish of St. John, is also the Minister of State for Finance, Planning, Economy, Energy and Foreign Trade.

The facility, which is expected to cost EC$3 million dollars will be funded by the World Bank.

The money for the project was made available to the previous government about seven years ago.

Mr. Church says he and his colleagues in government intend to deliver the facility to the people of St. John.

“Since 2002, there was money from the World Bank lying with the Government of Grenada to do exactly what we are doing right now”, he said.

“I want  people to understand that over seven years the previous Government was unable to do what we are going to do within the six months we have been in office”, explained Mr. Church.

Public health nurse Diana Stanislaus is excited about the establishment of the proposed state-of-the-art health facility, saying it’s a much-needed and welcomed project.

“I think it’s a very important project that is being undertaken, I think it’s very timely and long overdue”, she said.

Nurse Stanislaus highlighted that “The place is in a very dilapidated state, it’s environmentally hazardous to patients and other people using this facility”..
