Spice Word Literary Evening at St. George’s Anglican School

St. George’s, September 13, 2011 (GIS) – St. George’s will host a literary event on Wednesday, September 14, as part of the build up to this year’s Aunty Tek Spice Word Festival.

The storytelling evening, of published and unpublished writers, is one of a number of events that will be held in the various parishes in the next several weeks.

Wednesday’s storytelling evening will be held at the St. George’s Anglican Senior School on Church Street, starting 7 p.m.

The Aunty Tek Festival, from October 19 – 21, will pay tribute to educator Christine Clarkson for more than three decades of service to theatre and the dramatic arts.

Three writers have been designated as the “featured authors’’ for the festival, which is organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Grenada Cultural Foundation

The three are former Governor General, Sir Paul Scoon; England-based university lecturer Jacob Ross; and biographer Verna Wilkins, founder of Tamarind Books.
