At 7.55 P.M on Wednesday, July 06, 2011, Neals J. Chitan- the Grenadian-born president and frontline speaker of Motiv-8 For Change International, a Canadian based High Impact Social Skill Agency touches down at Maurice Bishop International Airport.
Invited to be the social skill speaker of the GNYAO Grenada Health Fair, July 10-15, 2011, Chitan decided to use his presence in his homeland to engage “Project STOP ‘n’ THINK-Grenada 2011” a tow month powerful crime and gang reduction campaign which comprises 85 high impact sessions which are designed to make an indelible mark on the social landscape of the Tri-island state.
His first week July 10-16 will be primarily dealing with the crime prevention as part of the GNYAO Health Fair team with sessions in GBSS, Grenville Secondary, McDonald’s College, Hillsborough Secondary and at Her Majesty Prison, where he will deliver social rehab sessions.
From July 17-September 06, Mr. Chitan through “Project STOP ‘n’ THINK-Grenada 2011” will work along with the Ministry of Youth Empowerment to deliver these powerful sessions across Grenada, Carriacou and Petit Martinique. These include: Children and youth community sessions, parent sessions and professional development sessions with also more social rehab sessions for inmates.
“Project STOP ‘n’ THINK-Grenada 2011” is the response to the requests of concern from local Grenadian communities for crime and gang related programs to deal in a proactive way with a rising anti-social trend in their communities. Please be advised that special emphasis will be place on Gouyave.
On Sunday, July 24, at 2.00 P.M, a history event will be convened at the conference room of the Grenada National Stadium. “UPROOTING CRIME & VIOLENCE” is a three hour conference designed to expose eight psycho-social roots of crime and violence.
Meant to target; teachers, social workers, law enforcement, youth leaders, coaches, youth pastors, club leaders and even parents, this powerful presentation will get to the root of the problem and show how to dig them out, so as to create a systematic and sustainable approach to crime prevention in Grenada.
As an international Lifestyle Enhancement Educator and Conference Speaker, Mr. Chitan has worked across Canada, five US States, Kenya, Ethiopia, across England and has done significant work in Grenada from 2004-2010.
