Majestic Escort Service, is there any majesty in Prostitution?
As a Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I do believe it is my God given responsibility, and of course, the responsibility of every one that is called by the name of Christ to speak out against this highly immoral Majestic Escort Service. It is our primary concern to make a moral judgment about those who participate and those who encourage our people to participate in the sale or purchase of services that predispose them to prostitution.
This Majestic Escort Service, if allowed to function in our country, has the potential to weaken the moral fabric of the society, and destroy the institution of the family which God Himself has set up. For many years, we have been labeled a Christian society. This Escort Service, challenges us as a people to remain morally pure. As a God fearing people, we have to stand up and confront this malaise head on. There is no time for us to sleep on this. We must call on our Government to break the silence and join us and speak out against this evil against our young people.
I make this personal appeal to our Prime Minister Honorable Tillman Thomas to protect the institution of the family. You have spoken out time and time again saying that you are about protecting our institutions. Well Sir, there is no greater one than the family. Our people need to hear you. No license should be granted, and this should not be encouraged nor seems to be encouraged in anyway.
Those who support this Escort Service claim that sexual favours are not apart of the job description, however if the Escort choose to enter into a private relationship with the Client, is up to her. My contention is, why are we exposing our young people to this temptation? We are quite aware of the economic hardship many of them are faced with presently. No jobs, no money, children to feed etc. and an opportunity as the Public Relation Officer of the service said to earn $4000.00 monthly. Think of the tremendous pressure they will be exposed to. We definitely do not want this for our people.
It’s important to note, that the exchanging of services or sex for money is fundamentally wrong. Our laws are very clear on this. It speaks to what is right and what is wrong and not about what is possible. According to Annie Atkim a Christian Writer and Broadcaster “The law is not there to prevent us from doing evil, but it is there to tell us what is good, helping us to define the right course of action.”
Therefore, I do expect the Royal Grenada Police Force to enforce the laws of the land resolutely, and say a resounding no to this Majestic Escort Service. Yes our people need jobs, but they need clean, legal and uplifting jobs that will elevate their status, giving them a sense of pride, not destroying their self image.
I thank you
