PARENTS INVITED TO DISCUSS MEXICO’S SWINE FLU VIRUS

St.George’s Grenada, Monday 27th April, 2009: Parents of students attending colleges in Mexico are invited to attend a forum with the Minister of Education and Human Resource Development, Hon. Franka Alexis-Bernadine on Tuesday 28th April at the Ministry of Education’s Conference room at 4;30pm, Botanical Gardens, Tanteen, St.George.
 
 The forum has been organized in an attempt to discuss the swine flu virus that is now raising major concern mainly in Mexico. Mexico fears the virus has claimed as many as 149 lives. Cases are also confirmed in Canada, the US and Spain.
 
 The World Health Organization (WHO) experts are meeting to consider raising the global pandemic alert level.
 
 The UN has warned that the virus has the potential to become a pandemic.
 
 The United States and the European Union are now urging travelers to Mexico to exercise caution, considering concerns over the spread of the swine flu virus.
