Over 35 technicians on Saturday benefitted from the second in the series of workshops put on by the National Ozone Unit (NOU) of the Energy Division of the Ministry of Finance.
The technicians were trained in R-407C and R-410A refrigerant technology.
These two technologies have been identified as potential replacements and alternatives for the Hydro-chloro-fluor-carbon (HCFC) refrigerants (R-22) which have significant ozone depleting potential.
The training was conducted by Mr. Badasee Nanan of the Air-condition and Refrigeration Industry Association (ARIA) of Trinidad and Tobago.
Among the participants were refrigeration and air-conditioning technicians from Grenada, Carriacou and Barbados along with refrigeration students of the T. A. Marryshow Community College.
Also participating were representatives from some of the leading importers and consumers of refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment in Grenada.
This training workshop follows a similar workshop held last week on Natural Refrigerants.
