St. George’s, Grenada – November 6, 2008: Leader of Her Majesty’s Opposition Dr. the Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell says that he is surprised that the new government has not been convening parliament as often as they wanted it to be convened, when they were in opposition.
Dr. Mitchell said that the Parliament has only had one working session since the last general elections and said that the NDC Administration should be increasing the number of parliament sittings, so that decisions can be taken to address many of the social and economic issues plaguing Grenada at this time.
According to Dr. Mitchell when the NDC was in opposition they frequently criticized the NNP administration for not convening parliament regularly; the opposition leader says the NDC now has an excellent opportunity to practice what they preach..
