Opposition New National Party extends sympathy to the people of Haiti

St. George’s, Grenada Wednesday Jan 13th, 2010: The Political Leader of the New National Party, Dr, The Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell and other executive members of NNP extends profound sympathy, to the people of Haiti who have suffered significant loss following the 7.0 magnitude earthquake which shook the capital on Tuesday. 
 
 Members of the party are hopeful that there will be a quick response from the international and regional community so that as many lives as possible can be saved. . The NNP it is extremely painful to learn of the thousand who are dead or in some way affected by this disaster.
 
 The party’s leader is therefore appealing to Grenadians both at home and abroad to offer special prayers for the people of Haiti, that as a nation they will rise again as we did after the passage of Hurricanes Ivan and Emily. He added that the prayers and the support of people throughout the world went a long way to restore hope to Grenadians and to build back the country.
 
 The New National Party says as an organisation, it is willing and ready to help in any way possible to offer assistance to the people of Haiti, and call on all Grenadians who are able to help to stand willing and ready to offer any possible assistance.
