OAS assisting Grenada’s energy sector

St. George’s, October 21, 2011 (GIS) – The Grenada government’s energy sector development initiative is receiving assistance from the Organization of American States (OAS).

The OAS, under its Caribbean Sustainable Energy Programme, has donated more than EC$7,000 in Information and Communication Technology equipment to the Energy Department of the Ministry of Finance.

“This is a very significant development,’’ Finance and Energy Minister, Hon. Nazim Burke, said at the handing over ceremony for the equipment.

“We take this opportunity to say we really appreciate this gift. We believe that it will go a long way to assist the department in the fulfillment of its commitment to provide better services as it relates to energy development.’’

The donated OAS equipment included a notebook computer and a briefcase for it; anti-virus programming; a printer and accessories such as a toner and scanner.
