Nimrod celebrates Christmas with Carriacou and PM

ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, December 30, 2015: The Parliamentary Representative for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Hon. Elvin Nimrod was in the middle of Christmas celebrations in the sister isles.

Nimrod participated in Christmas activities which included lighting of Christmas trees, award ceremonies, cocktail and dance as well as toy distribution.

One of the party’s major Christmas activities began on December 12th with an impressive Award Ceremony, Cocktail and Dance at the famous after hour’s night club where some thirty-five party stalwarts, professionals and other community activists were honored for their long standing contributions to the party, the community and the nation.

Following this was the lighting of Christmas trees and entertainment in eleven (11) villages which included: Mt. Pleasant, Belair, Mt. Royal and Top Hill, Brunswick and Six Roads, Petite Martinique, Windward, Dover, Belvedere and Limlair, Belmont, Bellevue South, Harvey Vale and Hermitage and finally L’Esterre and Lauriston.

These Christmas Tree lighting events received the full support, participation and cooperation of the villagers and brought into focus the tremendous unity that exist between and among people of Carriacou and Petite Martinique.

The closing highlights were the annual children Christmas party and toys distribution on Saturday December 19th, 2015 when hundreds of children from all over the island congregated at the constituency office on Victoria Street to receive their Christmas treat and toys.

On the following day, December 20th, 2015, over 200 senior citizens from all over the island gathered at the same venue on Victoria Street and were served a delicious meal and entertained with sweet music. The shut-ins were not forgotten and as usual their meals were hand delivered at their various homes.

The verbal as well as the facial expressions of joy, satisfaction and gratitude as communicated by those who had the opportunity to share in the act of kindness.
