NDC YOUTH CONVENTION 2015

The National Democratic Youth Movement (NDYM), the newly revamped Youth Arm of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will hold its first annual Convention Saturday, July 04, 2015 at the auditorium of the Grenada Boys Secondary School (GBSS).

In the aftermath of the 2013 polls, the NDC embarked on an exercise of rebuilding and reorganization of its internal organs. In recognition of the critical importance of the youth to this process, Political Leader, Hon. V. Nazim Burke noted that to be successful as an organization, “it is important that we combine the talent, vibrancy and innovativeness of the youth with the wisdom and experience of those of us who are not so young anymore.”

Saturday’s Convention will be the climax of two (2) years of consultative work that included retreats, seminars and workshops. Consequently, a constitution, logo and the newly formed Constituency Youth Arms will all be launched come Convention Day.

“We are pleased with what we have achieved so far and we look forward to continuing to build this organisation into a movement that all young people of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique will find attractive. Through the National Democratic Youth Movement, we intend to lead the young people of Grenada into taking charge by becoming more directly involved in the political, economic and social affairs of our beloved country,” declared out-going Interim Youth Arm Chairman Tevin Andrews.

Young Andrews, also  NDC caretaker for Carriacou & Petite Martinique, was high in praise for his Political Leader for what he described as his superb leadership in the conscientious reorganization of the organs of the party and specifically, for the gains of the last two years with the party’s youth work.
