The first in a series of constituency Christmas parties, organized by members of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), will be held this Saturday, December 13, in South St. George’s.
Honourable Glynis Roberts, Member of Parliament for the area, will be meeting her constituents at Camahogne Park for what has been dubbed, “It’s Christmas: Come Carry and Share.”
The event, which begins 3 pm, is a joint effort involving the MP and several churches and schools in St. George South.
“This is a children’s party and we will be providing them with packages that will include toys, food and fruits,” said Mrs. Roberts, Treasurer of the NDC.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Roberts announced today that the National Democratic Congress had added another artiste to the cast that will be performing at the NDC’s “Christmas Thanksgiving Concert” to be held December 20, 7 pm, at the National Stadium.
“Trinidad soca superstar, Baron, has agreed to support our party’s Christmas event,” she said. “The other major overseas acts will be two parang bands from Trinidad and Tobago, and well-known Jamaican gospel recording artiste, Carlene Davis.”
Davis is popular among Grenadian gospel music fans. During the recent election campaign, the NDC drew massive crowds to rallies which featured Davis.
Admission to the NDC’s “Christmas Thanksgiving Concert” is $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
