The National Primary School Quiz for 2009 organized by the National Water & Sewerage Authority, will officially begin on Friday November 20, 2009 with its Preliminary Round. Over 40 primary schools from across the island have registered to participate in this annual event. Students will gather at designated centres within their parish to do a written quiz on NAWASA and its operations. The designated centres are as follows:
· Students in the parish of St. Andrew will meet at the St. Andrew’s Methodist School.
· Students in the parish of St. Patrick will meet at the Hermitage Government School.
· Students in the parish of St. David will meet at the St. David R.C. School.
· Students in the parish of St. Mark and St. John will meet at the St. John’s R.C. School.
· Students in the parish of St. George will meet at the St. George’s Anglican Senior School.
The quiz will begin at 1:30pm and is expected to last for 45 minutes. The average of the schools participating will be calculated, so as to determine which schools will advance to the Quarter final round which will be held on Tuesday December 1, 2009.
Students will be competing to win over Fifty Thousand Dollars in cash and prizes from the organizers NAWASA, and the associated sponsors Grenada Breweries Limited, Real Value Supermarket, Huggins Distribution, Flow Grenada Limited and Grenada Teachers School Supplies.
The quiz aims to foster a better understanding among our student population, of NAWASA’s role as providers of our most vital resource – Water.
