The Media Workers Association of Grenada (MWAG) would like to express deepest condolence to the family and friends of Anthony “Jericho” “D Duke” Greenidge, a member of the fraternity who passed on today, in New York.
The media fraternity has been aware of his illness for a while now and is saddened by his untimely passing.
Jericho’s’ passing will be seen as a big blow to a struggling profession, which is in dire need of persons of his caliber.
Jericho, as he is professionally and affectionately called, has been a popular media personality and has developed a wide listenership for his morning show on WEE FM.
‘D Duke’, as he sometimes referred to himself, has been an innovator and effective communicator on radio and among one of his most memorable creations is what we now know as the ‘informal news’ – a segment in his morning program on WEE FM.
At the time of his passing, he was the second vice president of the Media Workers Association and has been personally involved in training a number of potential and young media workers in the art of radio broadcast.
He has been an active participant in social activities organized by MWAG and still holds the title of 2nd runner up in the Media Extempo Kaiso Competition, held in June this year.
