MULTI-SECTOR STAKEHOLDER CONSULTATION  ON A PROPOSED NATIONAL ENERGY POLICY

The Ministry of Finance, Planning, Economic Development, Energy and Foreign Trade and the Organization of American States under the Caribbean Sustainable Energy Program (CSEP), in Partnership with the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP), the CARICOM Secretariat, and the Caribbean Energy Utility Services Corporation (CARILEC) and with Support from the European Commission will host a Multi- Sector Stakeholder Consultation on a proposed National Energy Policy for Grenada on Tuesday July 28th , 2009 at the Flamboyant Hotel.

As you may recall, the Minister of Finance, Hon. Nazim Burke, in his 2009 Budget presentation, announced Government’s commitment to develop a sustainable energy policy. Consistent with this commitment, this consultation will engage all stakeholders for their valued input on the proposed National Energy Policy.  

After this consultation, the Ministry will finalize the policy document and present it to the Cabinet for consideration. It is envisaged that this Policy will act as a catalyst for the sustainable development of the State of Grenada.
