More Than 600 Toys for Kids

Brooklyn, NY – More than 600 kids in Perdmontemp’s and surrounding areas will receive toys at a Christmas tree lighting ceremony at the foot of John Dick hill on Wednesday, December 23. The event is organized by the Perdmontemp’s New Youth Development Organization and sponsored by Mr. Leslie Mc Queen, a son of the soil residing in the United States. Mr. Mc Queen noted that he is pleased to give back to the community in which he was born and raised.
 
 He informed that the toys are generated by well-wishers and friends in the United States, and among the items to be distributed are dolls, stuffed animals, storybooks and educational games.
 
 Mr. McQueen said that the annual event, which is in its seventh year, generates great excitement and enthusiasm among parents and children alike in the community. The toys are distributed to children within the ages of 4-12 years, most of whom who otherwise would not have had the opportunity to share in the true meaning and joy of Christmas, which is giving and sharing.
 
 Mr. Mc Queen said that he looks forward to the event, which brings so much joy to the kids at Christmas. “There is nothing better than seeing the smiles on the kids faces when they receive a toy of their choice,” he noted
 
 He complemented the Perdmontemp’s New Youth Development Organization for organizing the event, which generates so much excitement and happiness among the kids. This year’s event will feature cultural activities by the popular parang band Men from the Mainland; Caress Band and DJ. Mitch. Parliamentary Representative for St. David’s, Hon. Dennis Lett is expected to turn on the lights and deliver the keynote address at the ceremony.
