Minister of Finance, Hon. Nazim Burke, will leave Grenada on Thursday July 9th, 2009 to attend the 65th Meeting of Eastern Caribbean Central Bank’s Monetary Council which takes place on Dominica on Friday July 10th, 2009.
At the Meeting, the Governor will present his report on monetary and credit conditions for discussion by the Council. Coming out of these discussions, the Council will provide directives and guidelines to the Bank as mandated in the ECCB Agreement of 1983.
The Meeting will also discuss the Financial Sector Stability Issues and the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union’s (ECCU) Eight Point Stabilization and Growth Programme which was established as a collective response to the global economic crisis.
Minister Burke will be accompanied by Mr. Timothy Antoine, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance.
