The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is extremely happy to congratulate the Government and people of the Republic of Cuba on the Fiftieth Anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution.
The NDC salutes, in particular, the Cuban Communist Party (PCC), for ably guiding the process of nation building over the last five decades.
Of course, special mention must be made of the indomitable Fidel Castro Ruz for his astute leadership of the party and the country over the years, and for creating a solid foundation for cooperation and solidarity with developing countries.
Indeed, since 1959, Cuba has demonstrated its willingness to use its resources, human and material, through economic and technical cooperation, to assist sister nations around the world in their quest to better the lives of their citizens.
Despite having to deal with a harsh economic blockade that has caused much pain and suffering to its own people, Cuba has not relinquished the noble mission of helping others, including Grenada.
The NDC notes that the Cuban Revolution has accomplished much in: Education, Health, Culture, Politics, Sports, Industry, Research and Agriculture. We are confident that under President Raul Castro, the country will continue to build on its achievements.
The Party certainly wishes the leadership of the Revolution all the best in 2009 and beyond with the hope that Cuba continues to develop in all aspects of national life. .
