Marshall Dropped For Four Day Tournament

Kingston, Jamaica – Jamaica has left out seasoned opening batsman Xavier Marshall from their 13 man squad to face Guyana in the opening match of the WICB 4 Day Tournament starting Friday.

The Ruddy Williams led Jamaican selection panel could also find no place for top order duo Brenton Parchment and Donovan Pagon but Simon Jackson and Chadwick Walton – who have represented Combined Campuses & Colleges in past years – have been called to the national side.

Exciting young fast bowler Sheldon Cotterell made the cut along with pacemen Jerome Taylor and Andrew Richardson while off spinner Bevon Brown returns to the Tamar Lambert-led team alongside leg spinner Odean Brown.

Veteran batsman Wavell Hinds has been will add stability to the middle order along with West Indian left hander Brendan Nash and the experienced Danza Hyatt.

Jamaica are missing opening batsman Chris Gayle, wicketkeeper Carlton Baugh, spinner Nikita Miller and all rounder Andre Russell who are on West Indies duties in Asia.
