Lennox Linton to present full team of candidates on Monday

Leader of Dominica’s United Workers Party (UWP) Lennox Linton will present the party’s full slate of 21 candidates in readiness for the next General  Elections.

Linton will present the team at the party’s weekly press conference at the Prevost Cinemall on October 27 at 10:00hrs.

Since being elected Political Leader of UWP Team Dominica on 1st Sept  2013, Linton  replaced the Mahaut candidate Ronnie Isidore, and has attracted 10 highly regarded new candidates to the UWP Team Dominica,  building the UWP Team from 12 when he was elected, to its full complement of 21.  one.

Candidates joining UWP Team Dominica  since Linton was became Political Leader are: Economist Dr Thomson Fontaine, for the Grand Fond Constituency; Former DLP Parliamentarian, Urban Baron, Petite Savanne;   Engineer Felix Thomas, Mahaut; retired Inspector of Police Nicholas George, Colihaut; accountant Alexander Birmingham, Vieille case; engineer Jefferson James, Portsmouth;  Attorney at Law Eunica Anthony Victor, Paix Bouche; Attorney at Law Ronald Charles, Roseau Valley and Attorney at Law, Jashua Francis, Roseau South.

Stewart Burton for Cottage Constituency

The tenth and most recent addition to the  Team  under Linton, is Stewart Burton for the Cottage Constituency, who was announced by Linton on  Q95 radio on Thursday last. At Monday’s press Conference, Burton, a retired Inspector of Police, from the Commonwealth of Dominica Police force will speak to the  press  and take questions from them.

The other eleven candidates of UWP Team Dominica are:

Present Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Hon. Hector John, Salisbury; Economist, businessman Joseph Isaac, replacing the retiring Hon. Norris Prevost in Roseau Central; Senator the Honorable Danny Lugay, Roseau North; insurance specialist Senator the Hon. Ezekiel, Wesley;  Councillor Higgs Adams, Soufriere; former Minister of Education, Senator the Honorable Ron Green, Laplaine; DSC Economics Lecturer  Claudius Sanford Carib (Kalinago) Territory;  Architect, Town  Planner and Hotelier, Isaac Baptiste, for the Castle Bruce Constituency;  former head teacher James Alexander, Grandbay; single mother, former teacher and coach Monell Williams, St Joseph and experienced corporate executive ,  Leader Lennox Linton, Marigot.

Linton will address the press and field their questions. Other candidates will  be available to answer questions from the press about themselves and their plans for their Constituencies.

                                     Election Date to be announced in two weeks

The UWP anticipates that what they deem as the desperate and corrupt actions of Mr Skerrit by spending $259,000 of tax payers money from the public treasury for an upcoming election campaign type event, and  his Minister of Health excuse given to  the media on Wednesday this week, that he did not attend the recent ALBA organized meeting in Cuba to deal with Ebola  because  he has to do work in his Constituency, will lead to the General Elections announcement within the next two weeks.
