St. George’s, April 10, 2012 – Easter holidays are over but not the popular kite-flying that is closely associated with the season.
Dozens of kite-flyers are expected at the Mt. Airy Pasture in St. George’s on Saturday, April 14, for a fun day and competition.
The event, from 2 pm – 6 pm, has the backing of the private sector that is providing prizes to winners.
There’ll be prizes in various categories such as the biggest kite; smallest kite; most creative design; the kite with the longest tail and the kite with the shortest tail.
Other prizes will be presented to the oldest kite-flyer and the youngest kite-flyer.
The kite-flying competition, a family day of fun that will include music and other forms of entertainment, is an initiative of a committee of young people assigned to St. George’s under the Youth Empowerment Programme.
Registration for the competition will take place at the Mt. Airy Pasture from 1.30 pm on Saturday.
