Journalism Student Challenged to be Serious

George’s: GRENADA:  Twenty (20) students started a twelve week basic journalism, Public Relations and Promotions course on Monday as part of the Caribbean Agency for Media Services (CAMS) training program.

 During a very impressive and motivational orientation session the students were challenged to give much emphasis to the importance of the proper use of the English language.

 The ‘Charge’ was delivered by Mr. Winston Whyte, an accomplished writer and orator. Mr. Whyte reminded the students that having been given this opportunity to train in journalism they should embrace make a commitment to themselves by taking this new intiative in journalism training very seriously.

A passion for words and developing the right attitude are qualities required by the students if they are to successfully master the course, Mr. Whyte said.

General Secretary of the Media Workers Association of Grenada (MWAG), Mr. Raymond Roberts also challenged the journalism students to take advantage of the training being offered. He said reporters and media practioners should keep pace with the developments within the industry. Any serious person who wants to get involved in media should make training a must.
