Washington, D.C., October 13, 2010 – Well-known youth leader and women’s activist, Ingrid Jackson, is pursuing post graduate studies.  She’s a PhD. Candidate in Public Policy and Leadership at Walden University.

“I believe that leaders need to be developed; it would minimize the mistakes they make both ethically and administratively,’’ Jackson said. “I have always advocated such publicly; I therefore seek to live what I preach.’’

A year ago, Jackson – currently serving as Attaché to the Organization of American States at the Permanent Mission of Grenada to the OAS in Washington, D.C. – graduated with a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Andrews University in Michigan, U.S.A. She described the graduation as “another milestone in God’s purpose’’ to be fulfilled in her life.

Jackson, who was a candidate in the 2008 general election, has served on the executive of the National Democratic Congress and as a resourceful member of the Party’s youth arm, The Democratic Youth Organization. She said that everything she aspires to be “or to do is geared towards serving the people of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.’’

Walden University has a population of more than 42,500 campus-based and on-line students. Jackson said enrolling in the PhD. program is not simply about herself, but is intended to encourage others, especially youth, to also pursue their dreams.

“I am hoping to set the stage for those who will come after me – both in my family and in my community,’’ she said. “Poverty may be a matter of circumstance; success is a matter of determination, positive mindset and commitment.’’
