ST. GEORGE’S GRENADA, MARCH 23, 2018, GIS: A Government Minister from India has been instructed to visit Grenada to personally congratulate reelected Prime Minister Dr. Keith Mitchell and to see firsthand the state of Indian funded projects on the island.
This information was conveyed to Prime Minister Mitchell during a meeting with Indian High Commissioner based in Trinidad, Bishwadip Dey.
Dr. Mitchell was informed that the Prime Minister of India has instructed that a Minister will visit the island next month, following his party’s landslide victory in general elections.
Prime Minister Mitchell welcomed the Indian High Commissioner and provided him with updates on initiatives on stream.
They include the Belle Vue First Phase which is almost completed and a Community Center Project in River-Sallee.
India is also providing an Incinerator for the Hospital, two Intellectual Property Classrooms and another hundred thousand for child development projects.
India will also loan Grenada three ICT technical experts and provide support for the NHI.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Mitchell said he was especially happy about support from IT experts from India.
The first phase of the Belle Vue project is expected to be ready by the time the Minister from India visits.
