Impressive football start for Skill Youths

St. George’s, October 12, 2012 – Skill Youths have begun their campaign for the champion’s trophy in the Springs Village Football League in impressive fashion.

The Cemetery Hill-based team, which is sponsored by Town of St. George MP Peter David, played their first game on Thursday. They outperformed Regular Boys of Woodlands to win 5 – 0.

David, who witnessed Thursday’s game, described it as entertaining and congratulated the players of both team.

“I also want to commend the tournament organizers and to encourage more spectators to attend the games in support of the players,’’ MP David said.

“Organized sporting activities are good for the health and wellbeing of the participants and should be embarked upon in every village and parish throughout Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.’’

The competition continues Sunday, October 14, at Springs Playing Field.

Meanwhile, over at Old Trafford in Tanteen, a group of young people will be involved in an afternoon of sporting activities, starting 3 O’clock on Saturday, October 13.

The activities are organized by the Church in Happy Hill.
