IMF conducting 2nd Review of Grenada’s Homegrown Programme

ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, Friday, February 20, 2015:  A delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by Ms. Aliona Cebotari, is currently in Grenada conducting the second (2nd) review of Grenada’s Homegrown Structural Programme. This review covers the period July – December 2014 and looks at 2015.

Other partners participating in the review include the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB), the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and the World Bank. While here, they will hold consultations with officials of the Ministry of Finance and representatives from other Ministries and Departments, Statutory Bodies and Private Sector.

On the morning of Thursday 23rd, 2015, the Ministry of Finance and the IMF team will do a joint briefing with the development partners.

On the afternoon of Thursday 23rd, 2015, a joint press briefing will be held at 2:30 pm, at the Ministry of Finance Conference Room.

In January 2014, the Government of Grenada implemented a Home Grown Programme of fiscal adjustment and reforms aimed at achieving:

  •  Sustained economic growth and job creation;
  • Fiscal sustainability; and
  •  Debt sustainability
