St. George’s Grenada – MOEPRU – Tuesday October 20th 2009 – The Ministry of Education has granted permission to health officials for the purpose of conducting a H1N1 Education Program within the school system.

Officials at the Ministry understands the importance of both teachers and students being fully informed on how to practice and maintain proper hygiene at all times, thus a series of meetings and sessions will be held with the intention of sensitizing and informing all persons involved.

The program will be conducted by officials of the Ministry of Pre-Primary, Primary and Secondary Schools, as well as Day Care Centers throughout Grenada Carriacou and Petit Martinique.

Health officials are expecting to complete the program by the end of the school term in December 2009.  In light of this the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development is encouraging school officials, Education Officers and Parents to extend courtesies to the health officials
