New York, November 5, 2008 – The Grenadian community is saddened to learn of the passing of Jamaican music icon Bryon Lee after a prolonged illness.  I found Bryon to be a very kind and easy approachable person during his many visits to Grenada with his band over the years.  

His death will be a great loss not only to Jamaica but the entire world; and also to those who knew him as a great visionary. I extend my sincere condolences to his immediate family and to the people of Jamaica on behalf of the Consulate General of Grenada in New York..
