Grenada’s Prime Minister says that the government’s planned economic development thrus

Grenada’s Prime Minister says that the government’s planned economic development thrust, involving a partnership between the public and private sector, is not restricted to working with the business community in the country.

Honourable Tillman Thomas made the statement this morning after a meeting at his office with Mr. Leroy Paris, a visiting Barbadian-born CLICO executive.

Mr. Paris’ commercial interests include road construction, and the Prime Minister says he is interested in doing business in Grenada.

“He is a Caribbean person who is interested in extending his business activities in Grenada. We have scheduled a meeting for January to see what kind of business venture he could engage in,” Prime Minister Thomas said.

He added that the government is looking to the region in its public/private sector initiative.

“That initiative is not restricted to Grenada and we are exploring all possibilities,” Mr. Thomas said.
