Grenada’s Opposition Members says they will not be silenced by the Government

St. George’s, Grenada, October 18th: Members of Her Majesty’s Opposition are extremely concerned about the inability of the Speaker of the House of Representative to be fair and objective in dealing with the business of the people.

The elected members of the Opposition say they feel that they are being denied the opportunity to speak on behalf of the people they represent, particularly when the Government which holds a majority in Parliament has proven unable to properly manage the country’s affairs.

Members have therefore decided that in light of the worsening economic situation in the country and in light of new developments which are of urgent national importance, they will communicate directly with the people of Grenada through a public meeting at Happy Hill St George.

The meeting is scheduled to take place on Thursday October 21st, 2010 in front Mr. Sandy’s Shop from 6:30pm and will be carried live on most radio stations, the internet and on the website of the New National Party www.nnpnews.com

Members of Her Majesty’s Opposition say they will not allow the Government to succeed at its obvious plan to muzzle them.
