GRENADA’S NEW P.M. & CABINET MEMBERS TO VISIT NYC

The New York Chapter of the National Democratic Congress of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique, cordially invites all Grenadians and friends of Grenada to two special events involving this nation’s new Prime Minister and three other cabinet members. These events will be held in Queens, New York on Friday, September 19 and in Brooklyn, New York on Sunday, September 21, 2008.

The First Event

On Friday, all are invited to attend a special Ceremonial Dinner-Dance in honour of the Hon. Tillman J. Thomas, Prime Minister of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.

This event to be held at Astoria Manor in Queens, will feature brief addresses by the PM Hon. Thomas and the Chairman of the NDC-NY Chapter, Mr. Alfred Butler.

Additionally, attendees will get to savor some of New York’s finest cuisine, and to enjoy live music orchestrated by the InSync Band.

Friday’s event will begin with a Cocktail Hour at 9 p.m. and end at 2 a.m.

The Second Event

On Sunday, all are again invited to attend a special Town Hall Meeting at the Medgar Evers College Auditorium.

This event will feature addresses by the PM Hon. Tillman J. Thomas, Minister of Legal Affairs, National Security, Public Administration and Information;  Hon. George Prime, Minister of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs; Hon. Nazim Burke, Minister of Finance, Planning, Economic Development, Energy, Foreign Trade and Cooperatives; and Hon. Patrick Simmons, Minister of Youth Empowerment, Culture and Sports. These officials will share the new government’s plans for Grenada’s future.

Sunday’s meeting will also deliver some of the finest expressive culture from Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique and the Diaspora, as showcased by Quake USA and the L’Esterre Quadrille Dancers.

Sunday’s event will begin sharply at 5 p.m.

Other Activities
Besides these two special events, the members of the Grenada government delegation are also expected to be guests of the NYC Council and the NY State Governor, who is of Grenadian parentage.

Additionally the delegation will take time to meet with various Grenadian and international prospective investors, leaders in business, education and healthcare, and various media houses. One of these meetings will be hosted by the Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) – an organization founded and presided over by Grenadian Dr. Roy Hastick.
