A 16 year old boy is the island’s second road fatality for 2011. Dead is 16 year old Kegan Jones, a student at the St. Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School.

Reports says that a yellow Suzuki Carry driven by Rondel Chasteau collided head-on with an oncoming truck at Balthazar St. Andrew.

Jones, who was a passenger on the Suzuki Carry suffered severe damage to his body.

Rondel, the driver of the vehicle was rushed to the Mirabeau Hospital where he was said to be in critical condition.The occupants of the truck escaped with minor injuries.

The first road fatality was recorded on January 2nd, when a 27 year old female of River Road St. George, was knocked down by an oncoming vehicle while attempting to cross the street at Queens Park St. George.
