GOVERNMENT ENDORSES E-GOVERNANCE PROJECT

St. George’s, Grenada (June 10, 2008) The Government of Grenada takes centre stage in endorsing a project that would engage its workforce in becoming well-rounded and more efficient.

It has already signed a Memorandum of Understanding in this regard with the renowned MGRM Technologies Incorporated USA, Multidomain Global Relationship Management.

The Marketing Director of the New York-based MGRM group, Dr. Subash Malhotra signed on behalf of MGRM and Grenada’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Dr. Angus Friday, signed on behalf of the Government.

Already, MGRM has started a ‘Systems Study’ in pursuit of the implementation of what’s called the ‘E-Governance’ Project that would help bring about total governance and create greater levels of transparency.

MGRM is said to have the core essence of conventional value systems blended with state-of-the-art technology to enable individuals to improve their working and subsequently living standards.

In connection with this development, Mr. Rishi Suri, the General Manager of the Strategic Implementation Department associated with MGRM Infotech Solutions recently met and held discussion with Prime Minister Dr. the Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell.

Dr. Mitchell explained that since the project is geared at bringing about greater citizenry participation relating to Government policies and programmes, it’s indeed a worthwhile venture.

The Grenadian Leader is of the view that Grenada is surrounded by a fast paced and ever changing environment and it must be abreast of the times if it is to compete and be sustainable.

According to MGRM, the project will be established on the basis of what’s termed as citizen-centric platform to run applications that are directly and indirectly beneficial to all constituents of governance.

The concept is from birth to employment and provides all services within this scope, including birth certification, immunization details, agriculture E-cards, education I.D systems to National unique I.D systems.

Certain facets relate specifically to development of individuals into complete personalities with a predominant focus on the psychological dimension.

Looking at the evolution of the E-Governance concept and the results of intensive global research, Prime Minister Mitchell is of the view that the education sector stands to benefit immensely from the project.

The overall scope of the project will cover several Ministries and Departments, with special emphasis on Agriculture, Lands, Forestry, Fisheries, Public Utilities, Energy, Communications, Works and Transport, as well as Education and Labour, among others.

The services to be provided by MGRM Technologies follow the Group’s vision given by its founder, Dr. K  V  R Murthy, which is the ‘ultimate rehabilitation for the human race’.

Its mission is to make an individual a complete personality and engender hope that “May God Rehabilitate Mankind”..
