GBT CONDUCTS ANNUAL SCHOOLS VISITING PROGRAMME

Secondary school students and teachers in the parishes of St. Andrew, St. David, and to a lesser extent, St. George is the target audience for this year’s School Visiting Programme of the Grenada Board of Tourism, which begins on September 17 and concludes on November 19, 2008.

This annual programme of the Board is part of its overall objective to educate Grenadians about the value of tourism and its importance for national growth and development.

It also addresses the career opportunities it provides, and the benefits that accrue to all sectors of the economy.

Through this initiative, the Grenada Board of Tourism hopes to assist students in developing a higher level of pride and confidence about Grenada as a tourist destination, while providing opportunities for them to understand the tourism product, its linkages, and other related interests.

The GBT wishes to thank the Ministry of Education for its support with this programme and assures it of its commitment to do all that’s possible to continuously interact with the school population to heighten appreciation about the importance of tourism and its benefits to all Grenadians.
