Francis Mc Barnette Appointed OAS Representative To Barbados

The Organisation of American States (OAS) has the pleasure to announce that the Secretary-General, H.E. José Miguel Insulza, has appointed Mr. Francis A. Mc Barnette as OAS Representative to Barbados.  This appointment which is effective September 1st, 2008 brings to a close Mr. Mc Barnette’s tenure as OAS Representative to Grenada.  Mr. Mc Barnette has the distinction of being the longest serving OAS Representative to Grenada, having replaced Dr. C. Frank Lankaran in 1992.

The OAS Country Office under the leadership of Francis Mc Barnette has observed the general elections in Grenada in 1999, 2003 and recently in 2008.  The Country Office has executed numerous projects in a wide range of arrears and has facilitated many nationals of Grenada receiving tertiary education. The Organisations will in the very near future name a replacement for Mr. Mc Barnette.
